The Holiday

May 22, 2008

I’m so looking forward to our annual vacation this coming December. I’m planning to call Emirates Airlines next week for our bookings to avoid the rush and high ticket prices (well, the company pays, so what the heck!).

Aside from BFF T’s wedding, which is going to be fun, my big sister’s family from Cali will spend the holidays sa ‘Pinas. So it’s kind of a reunion for us magkakapatid since my lil bro and I (with Mi Amour) is here in Dubai. We will head over down south to Boracay. I’ve emailed a couple of resorts already but no response yet. Then I’ve browsed Cebu Pacific for the P1 peso fare but no luck, tapos na pala ang promo. BFF T got lucky she managed to snag tickets on the last day.

Then off to the magical world of HK Disneyland via Macau. This one of course is for my lil girl, Isabel. She wants to meet Cinderella and Ariel, I hope she gets to see the Disney Princesses. Aside from HK tour, we get to see Macau’s historical sites and casinos. It is going to be a lot of planning (on schedule & finances) so as to get the best fares/hotels and a lot of shopping but not comprising our comforts naman.

This is going to be fun, sun, and magical holiday for us.

Mama took this picture. I’m speechless at that wonderful sight. Two of the loves of my life having a quiet moment. Gosh, I miss Isabel and my parents.

Some kind of wonderful & a Bday

May 1, 2008

It was B.Bro’s bday last Tuesday. We had some dinner and booze at Jules Bar in Le Meridien Village.

with Stan (bday.boy)

Jules Bar Satisfaction Ratings:

Entertainment  = 5 stars

Domination Band kickstarted the night with R&B songs, still pleasant to the ears followed by Multivitamins Band. They were soo funny and we had a good laugh not to mention he made fun on the audience.

FOOD & BEVERAGE = 4 stars

We had the Mexican Platter, another platter that I forgot the name and Crispy Pata. They had Kilkenny’s for the booze (which by the way an Irich cream ale and has stonger taste)  and I tried the Apricot & Mango Martini followed by Smirnoff Ice and a tea which by the way is free as it was their Ladies Night.

Service = 3 stars

The service was pretty slow…slow…slow…We ask kabayan for our drinks  a whole lot…Really.

Overall, it was ok and we had fun. I even took photos of the couple who danced when their theme song (What a Wonderful World) was sung in upbeat sorta bossa version by the band. They were from New York having a vacation here in Dubai and I think they were in their seventies, isn’t that cool. They still get to date and enjoy life as a couple.

What a wonderful world…..

Canal Walk at Dubai Festival City

April 20, 2008

Mi Amour and I went to the Toy Kingdom at Dubai Festival City with friends last Friday. Isabel asked for Nori of Mermaidia, good to know she’s deviating from the pink stuff now as Nori is in purple hue. I love the Barbie Mariposa but I’ll be getting it for her birthday.

After getting what we went for, we headed outside at Canal Walk. Good thing it was windy and the afternoon temperatures weren’t that bad. There were gondolas sorta like Venice canals minus the singing gondolier. Restaurants and food carts and souvenir kiosks lined outside the Mall.

We went grocery shopping at the nearby Hyper Panda and before we called it a night Mi Amour and I had dinner at Ikea Restaurant across Hyper Panda.

Check out some of our pix:

Asia’s songbird serenades Dubai

October 18, 2007
Regine V. had a concert last night at the Aviation Club in Dubai. As always, her performance was truly world class. She sang so well that I had goosebumps althrough the concert; mind you she was paos and belting out. The band was “hataw” as well so as the crowd. Malas lang, i didn’t bring a camera so no pictures.Stupid me! going unprepared. But then, there’s always next time.

Arm Candy

July 23, 2007

Truth be told..

I bought my first LV bag..I finally took the plunge to don the goodies at the House of Louis Vuitton. After days of constant whining and blabbering, Beibei told me to go buy it..Just like that.Maybe he wants me to stop talking or maybe he just want the best for me..Seriously.

As I entered LV at Mall of the Emirates, I felt like the bags were talking to me..I really like the  Multicoloure Trouville but I realized it was too fancy for me..

I finally got the LV Damier Speedy 25 – my new Arm Candy. The bag suits me well. The size, style and color. For me, this is classy.

**Whilst at LV, I saw a familiar face and approached her if she is Nicollette Bell – well indeed she is. She is one of Philippines ramp and print model. She asked my opinion if she would go for the Monogram Speedy or Damier Speedy. I, being the fashionista wannabe, told her to go for the Damier too..And she did..
